Quick Wrap: Nifty IT Index records a surge of 2.21%

Nifty IT index ended up 2.21% at 28724.05 today. The index has lost 3.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, L&T Technology Services Ltd jumped 4.05%, Tech Mahindra Ltd added 3.40% and Larsen & Toubro Infotech Ltd gained 3.32%. The Nifty IT index has decreased 17.00% over last one year compared to the 2.67% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Private Bank index increased 0.57% and Nifty Auto index added 0.52% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 recorded a gain of 0.19% to close at 17833.35 while the SENSEX witnessed a rise of 0.18% to close at 59793.14 today.
