Quick Wrap: Nifty Media Index records a surge of 1.95%

Nifty Media index ended up 1.95% at 1827.25 today. The index has added 6.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd jumped 5.92%, Network 18 Media & Investments Ltd added 4.99% and TV18 Broadcast Ltd rose 3.75%. The Nifty Media index has decreased 19.00% over last one year compared to the 9.30% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Realty index has slid 1.82% and Nifty Pharma index gained 1.38% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has dropped 0.33% to close at 12098.35 while the SENSEX has declined 0.40% to close at 41141.85 today.
