Quick Wrap: Nifty Metal Index gains 1.63%

Nifty Metal index ended up 1.63% at 2539.65 today. The index has gained 3.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Tata Steel Ltd rose 3.94%, Hindalco Industries Ltd gained 3.12% and Steel Authority of India Ltd added 2.47%. The Nifty Metal index has fallen 24.00% over last one year compared to the 11.26% increase in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty PSU Bank index gained 1.43% and Nifty Pharma index gained 1.24% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has slid 0.09% to close at 11884.5 while the SENSEX has slid 0.18% to close at 40284.19 today.
