Quick Wrap: Nifty Metal Index gains 7.90%, NIFTY jumps 3.21%

Nifty Metal index closed up 7.90% at 1859.9 today. The index has gained 17.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, APL Apollo Tubes Ltd added 13.31%, Vedanta Ltd rose 13.14% and Hindalco Industries Ltd gained 11.95%. The Nifty Metal index has fallen 40.00% over last one year compared to the 16.07% slide in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Auto index gained 6.45% and Nifty Commodities index gained 5.16% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 recorded a gain of 3.21% to close at 9859.9 while the SENSEX recorded a gain of 3.05% to close at 33717.62 today.
