Quick Wrap: Nifty Metal Index records a surge of 1.82%

Nifty Metal index ended up 1.82% at 3597.2 today. The index has added 9.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, MOIL Ltd fell 3.99%, APL Apollo Tubes Ltd added 3.86% and Hindalco Industries Ltd jumped 3.80%. The Nifty Metal index has increased 5.00% over last one year compared to the 18.42% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty PSU Bank index has slid 1.52% and Nifty Energy index gained 0.99% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 recorded a gain of 0.40% to close at 11738.5 while the SENSEX witnessed a rise of 0.52% to close at 38896.63 today.
