Quick Wrap: Nifty Metal Index registers a drop of 5.02%

Nifty Metal index closed down 5.02% at 3485.35 today. The index has lost 4.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Welspun Corp Ltd dropped 12.56%, Jindal Steel & Power Ltd fell 12.19% and Jindal Stainless (Hisar) Ltd shed 11.37%. The Nifty Metal index has decreased 0.00% over last one year compared to the 11.89% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Realty index has slid 4.75% and Nifty Infrastructure index has dropped 2.57% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has slid 0.43% to close at 10930.45 while the SENSEX has slid 0.27% to close at 36227.14 today.
