Quick Wrap: Nifty Pharma Index records a surge of 1.73%

Nifty Pharma index ended up 1.73% at 8345.3 today. The index has added 3.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Piramal Enterprises Ltd jumped 5.21%, Dr Reddys Laboratories Ltd added 3.30% and Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd gained 2.26%. The Nifty Pharma index has decreased 7.00% over last one year compared to the 13.27% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Consumption index increased 0.84% and Nifty Bank index is down 0.83% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has dropped 0.03% to close at 12352.35 while the SENSEX witnessed a rise of 0.03% to close at 41945.37 today.
