Quick Wrap: Nifty Pharma Index records a surge of 2.72%

Nifty Pharma index ended up 2.72% at 10583.15 today. The index has added 13.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Aurobindo Pharma Ltd jumped 8.95%, Biocon Ltd rose 6.23% and Cadila Healthcare Ltd gained 5.08%. The Nifty Pharma index has increased 19.00% over last one year compared to the 16.34% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Energy index increased 2.05% and Nifty Media index has slid 1.60% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 witnessed a rise of 0.52% to close at 11536.9 while the SENSEX witnessed a rise of 0.59% to close at 38242.81 today.
