Quick Wrap: Nifty PSU Bank Index falls 5.16%, NIFTY Crashes 2.16%

Nifty PSU Bank index closed down 5.16% at 2673.85 today. The index has slipped 12.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, State Bank of India dropped 5.92%, Central Bank of India fell 4.85% and Bank of India slipped 4.73%. The Nifty PSU Bank index has fallen 12.00% over last one year compared to the 2.50% increase in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Metal index has dropped 3.84% and Nifty IT index has slid 3.04% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has declined 2.16% to close at 10234.65 while the SENSEX has slid 2.19% to close at 34001.15 today.
