Quick Wrap: Nifty PSU Bank Index rises 3.74%

Nifty PSU Bank index closed up 3.74% at 2413.4 today. The index is up 5.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Central Bank of India gained 15.83%, Syndicate Bank rose 11.44% and Bank of India jumped 5.73%. The Nifty PSU Bank index is down 15.00% over last one year compared to the 16.14% surge in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty IT index added 1.41% and Nifty FMCG index gained 1.01% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 increased 0.49% to close at 11844.1 while the SENSEX added 0.55% to close at 40051.87 today.
