Volumes jump at Bharti Airtel counter

GPT Infraprojects, Timex Group India, Power Grid Corporation of India and Bharat Electronics are among the other stocks to see a surge in volumes on BSE today, 16 January 2018.

Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 55.59 points or 0.16% at 34,899.10.

Bharti Airtel clocked volume of 3.89 crore shares by 12:31 IST on BSE, a 87.37-times surge over two-week average daily volume of 4.45 lakh shares. The stock rose 0.2% to Rs 505.10.

GPT Infraprojects notched up volume of 9.06 lakh shares, a 68.76-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 13,000 shares. The stock rose 0.87% to Rs 221.

 

Timex Group India saw volume of 11.77 lakh shares, a 17.68-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 67,000 shares. The stock was locked in 20% upper circuit at Rs 67.55.

Power Grid Corporation of India clocked volume of 44.99 lakh shares, a 17.24-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 2.61 lakh shares. The stock fell 1.26% at Rs 196.75.

Bharat Electronics saw volume of 49.30 lakh shares, a 16.71-fold rise over two-week average daily volume of 2.95 lakh shares. The stock shed 0.78% to Rs 177.10.
