11 die in Chhattisgarh accident

A child and 10 women were killed when a van they were travelling in collided with a tractor-trailer in Chhattisgarh, police said on Thursday.

The accident took place on a highway in Balod district just after midnight on Wednesday. The women were among 30 others who were returning home after attending a wedding, a police officer said.

The drivers of both the vehicles fled from the spot, police said.
