12 dead after consuming spurious liquor in Pakistan

Twelve people were killed after consuming spurious liquor in Lahore, a media report said on Wednesday.

Six people died in Youhanabad area and the remaining in Liaqatabad area, The Nation reported.

Three died on Monday and the others on Tuesday. Two others were said to be in a serious condition.

DIG operations Haider Ashraf told Dawn that according to initial inquiries, the victims had consumed toxic liquor.

Ashraf, however, said that there were only eight deaths -- two in Liaqatabad and six in Youhanabad.
