At least 20 Al Shabaab militants were killed and 29 others were injured by government troops in Somalia's semi-autonomous Puntland region, media reported Tuesday.
Abdiweli Mohamed Ali, leader of the Puntland in the country's northeast, confirmed that Puntland Defence Forces (PDFs) killed 20 Al-shabaab militants and injured another 29 in a two-day fight against the militant group in Galgala,Xinhua reported.
Five soldiers were killed as well in the fight, said Ali, adding that the army also destroyed cache of weapons and seized surveillance equipment.
