At least 20 people were killed following an explosion and sporadic shootings that rocked the premises of a college in Nigeria's Kano state Wednesday, hospital sources said.
The incident occurred in the Federal College of Education duing Wednesday afternoon, Xinhua quoted sources at two state-run hospitals administering treatment to victims.
A doctor at the state-run Aminu Kano Medical Center in the metropolis said more than one-and-a-half dozens of victims were wheeled in dead, while others sustained injuries from the attack.
The attack occurred in Kabuga, the host community of the college, and residents ran helter-skelter in search of refuge.
