500 hydraulic lifts-equipped buses for Delhi

The national capital will get 500 standard floor CNG buses fitted with hydraulic lifts for disabled passengers, the Delhi Transport Department announced on Friday.

The buses, to be on streets within six months, will facilitate commuters between rural and central Delhi.

"Letters of acceptance awarded to successful bidders of two clusters for a total of 500 standard floor CNG buses as per permission granted by Supreme Court. They will be fitted with hydraulic lifts for disabled passengers," Transport Secretary Varsha Joshi said in a tweet.
