Biker snatches Iranian national's mobile phone

An unidentified biker snatched a from an elderly Iranian national here who had come to visit India, police said on Thursday.

According to the police, the incident occurred on Wednesday when the victim identified as Sorosh, 63, left his guest house 'Parsi Anjuman' at Gate to visit Rajghat.

"When was waiting for a cab with his wife and his son at Gate, a biker snatched his and escaped towards LNJP hospital," a senior said.

alleged that he informed the Police Control Room (PCR) immediately but the police reached after 20 minutes.

"The incident occurred near DCP office and Police Headquarters, but police did not take any swift action," told IANS.

"Sorosh was earlier in and had come to four days before," the said.

"We are examining the CCTV footages of nearby roads and are taking the help of locals to identify the snatcher," he added.
