BJP suspends Bihar leader for six years

The BJP on Monday suspended former parliamentarian Monazir Hasan for six years on charge of anti-party activities, the party's Bihar unit president Mangal Pandey said.

Hasan, a former minister, joined Bharatiya Janata Party ahead of the 2014 Lok Sabha polls. He was sidelined and kept away from campaigning in the 2015 Bihar assembly polls.

The BJP fielded only two Muslim candidate in the assembly elections. Monazir was a BJP ticket hopeful but did not make it to the party's candidates' list.
