CBI arrests a Delhi Police officer for corruption

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday said that it has arrested a Sub Inspector of the Delhi Police on charges of corruption.
According to the CBI officials, the accused officer, Virendra Kumar, posted with the pension cell at Parliament Street police station, was demanding a bribe of Rs 22,000 from the complainant.
"We had received a complaint in this regard and a trap was laid accordingly to catch the officer red handed. He was arrested when he was accepting the bribe of Rs 22,000 from the complainant," a CBI official said.
The accused will be presented before a court on Wednesday.
