A court here on Thursday granted bail to former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit's estranged son-in-law in a case of alleged theft and misappropriation of his wife's property.

Special Judge Deepak Garg granted bail to Syed Mohammad Imran, asking him to furnish a personal bond of Rs 2 lakh and a surety of the like amount.

Imran was arrested in Bengaluru last week.

Dikshit's daughter Latika had accused Imran of domestic violence and filed a complaint in June.

She also alleged that Imran took away jewellery and other expensive items from her residence.

Latika and Imran, who got married in 1996, had been living separately for the last 10 months.

Imran has been booked for dishonest misappropriation of property, criminal conspiracy, destruction of evidence and cheating and also for violation of the Information Technology Act provisions.
