Dorival tipped for Vasco coaching job

Former Flamengo boss Dorival Junior is among the favourites to replace Paulo Autuori as coach of Brazilian top-flight club Vasco da Gama.
Autuori ended days of speculation by resigning from the Rio de Janeiro outfit Tuesday, citing continued salary delays as the key reason for his decision, reports Xinhua.
Vasco's directors will meet with Dorival on Wednesday to discuss the 51-year-old's possible return to the club he coached in 2009, O Globo reported.
Earlier, Vasco released a statement confirming Autuori's departure.
"Vasco appreciate the dedication and professionalism Paulo has shown and wish him the best for the future," the club said in a statement.
Autuori is expected to assume the vacant position at Sao Paulo after last week's sacking of Ney Franco.
Dorival has been out of work since March, when he was dismissed by Flamengo for refusing to accept a pay cut.
