England were 62 for no loss in the first innings and trailed India by 86 runs at stumps on the first day of the fifth and the final cricket Test at The Oval here Friday.
Alastair Cook was batting on 24 and Sam Robson on 33 when the stumps were drawn.
Earlier in the day, India were skittled out for 148 runs in the first innings.
