Fenerbahce in talk with Zenit defender Alves

Turkish football giant Fenerbahce announced Wednesday that they were in talk with Portugal's Bruno Alves for a move from Russia's Zenit St. Petersburg.

"We have agreed on the transfer of Russia's Zenit player Bruno Alves," Fenerbahce stated Wednesday, reports Xinhua.

The Istanbul club said talks with the 28-year-old centre back were in smooth progress and close to a deal.
