Girl accidentally hurt in engineering student's firing

A 20-year-old girl was injured outside her home after a 22-year-old engineering student fired in the air, police said Thursday. The accused has been arrested.

The incident happened at Begumpur area in west Delhi Wednesday evening. The girl suffered an injury on her left hand and is now out of danger.

Police said Deepak's intention was to fire in the air.

Deepak, pursuing engineering course from a Haryana college, had come home on leave.

He was arrested and the weapon seized.
