Union Home Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi on Thursday called on Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and discussed the prevailing law and order situation in the troubled state, officials said.
"The Home Secretary is also scheduled to call on state Governor N.N. Vohra at Raj Bhawan later today," an official said.
This is Rajiv Mehrishi's first visit to Jammu and Kashmir after Mufti called on the Prime Minister and Home minister in New Delhi last month.
The Kashmir Valley has been on the boil since the Lok Sabha by-poll followed by civilian killings in April.
