Amid the ongoing tussle between the Delhi government and the union home ministry over a notification, Delhi Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung on Thursday apprised Home Secretary L.C. Goyal about the present situation, official sources said.

"He (Jung) came to office of the home ministry in the morning when both Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Home Secretary L.C. Goyal were present," a ministry official told IANS.

He said the lt. governor apprised Goyal about the ongoing tussle between his office and the Delhi government, led by Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal.

"The lt. governor also raised his concerns with the Centre over the transfer of officers despite home ministry orders," an official source said.

The tussle between Jung and the Delhi government started over the appointment of senior bureaucrat Shakuntala Gamlin as the acting chief secretary on May 15.

Kejriwal had accused Gamlin of lobbying for power distribution companies in the national capital.

The union home ministry on May 21 issued a notification that said Lt. Governor Jung has discretionary powers for appointments and transfers to key bureaucratic posts in the national capital.
