Madhya Pradesh Lokayukta Police here on Friday caught a jailor while taking a bribe of Rs 2,500, a police official said.
Gwalior Lokayukta Police Deputy Superintendent Dharmveer Bhadoria told IANS: "Ramesh Sharma demanded Rs 3,000 for issuing a character certificate to one Deshraj Singh who had served a four-month jail term.
"Singh had paid Rs 500. Sharma was caught while accepting the remaining Rs 2,500 at his official residence."
According to Bhadoria, Singh had been awarded seven-year imprisonment in a case, which he had challenged in the high court. He had been in the Bhind Jail for four months, after which he was granted bail.
