As the chorus for the removal of West Bengal Human Rights Commission chairman Justice A.K. Ganguly grows, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee Friday shot off a second letter to President Pranab Mukherjee urging action.

"The media has reported a three-judge Supreme Court panel has indicted him, prima facie, guilty of the charges levelled against him. On this basis, I have sent another letter today to the President for taking urgent necessary action, so that he is removed from his office at the earliest," said Banerjee.

She wrote to Pranab Mukherjee Thursday, requesting urgent action against Ganguly for his alleged misconduct towards a law intern.

Besides the Trinamool Congress, others, including Bharatiya Janata Party's Sushma Swaraj, have been clamouring for Ganguly's ouster as the rights panelchief.
