Meghalaya Home Minister Roshan Warjri, who quit two months ago from the Congress-led government, has reconsidered her decision to return to the cabinet, Chief Minister Mukul Sangma said Tuesday.

"I am happy to inform that the home minister, who submitted her resignation, has reconsidered her decision after we convinced her to remain in the cabinet," Sangma told journalists.

"I did a lot of work yesterday (Monday) and today (Tuesday) as well. I have prevailed upon her and therefore, she will continue as minister with the same portfolio."

Warjri, the first woman home minister in Meghalaya, resigned Nov 20, 2014, owning moral responsibility for the deteriorating law and order situation in the Garo Hills.

However, Sangma did not accept Warjri's resignation.

Meanwhile, Sangma also hinted to a reshuffle in his council of ministers.

"Reshuffling will be there in due course of time. Please bear with me. We are yet to complete two years in office," he said.
