Modi to begin Japan visit Aug 31

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Japan from Aug 31 to Sep 3, it was announced Friday.

External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin said Modi will reach Japan on the evening of Aug 31, hold a series of meetings there on Sep 1-2, and is expected to fly back home on Sep 3.

Akbaruddin said more details of the visit and meetings with political leadership in Japan are not immediately known.
