The mayor of the Belgian city of Bruges has decided that supporters of Italian football club Napoli will not be allowed to attend Thursday's Europa League clash against hosts Brugge, due to the terrorist threats.

Mayor Renaat Landuyt on Tuesday said that terrorist threats have reached level 3 and level 4 across Belgium, which will make it difficult for enough forces to be deployed to secure the stadium, reports Efe.

He also decided not to sell any more tickets for the match scheduled to be played at the Jan Breydel Stadium in round five of the group stage of Europa League.

The city of Bruges is located 100 kilometres (around 62 miles) from the capital Brussels, which remains on high alert on anticipatory terrorist attacks.
