Rape victim attempts suicide near CM's house in Bhopal

A rape victim attempted suicide by consuming poison near the chief minister's residence here, police said.

She has been admitted to Hamidia hospital in critical condition, by policemen deployed at the CM house.

The victim has alleged that son of a retired policeman raped her many times. He was also jailed for it but upon his release he again raped her. This had forced her to take the extreme step.

Satna Superintendent of Police Sanjay Kumar said that victim's complaint was being probed.

Leader of Opposition in the assembly Satyadev Katare visited the victim in the hospital.
