Republic Day celebrated in Uttar Pradesh

The main parade, led by an army contingent, was received with applause here as residents braved the early morning chill to make it to the Vidhan Sabha Marg to catch a glimpse of the colourful show.

Governor B.L. Joshi took the salute at the parade. Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav was present.

Other than the police and military, students from different schools also participated in the parade.

Across the state, the day was celebrated at district headquarters.
