The Supreme Court on Friday junked a plea that sought the postponement of Airtel Half Marathon scheduled here on November 20 over pollution concerns.
Declining the plea, a bench of Chief Justice T.S. Thakur and Justice Anil R. Dave said: "We can't stop people from running. They are running in the Lodhi Garden. They are running in the Nehru Park."
Anyone running knows about the prevailing high level of pollution and they have a right to run, said the bench as the petitioner told the court that air pollution in Delhi was very high and could cause problems to runners.
