Suicide bombing hits Afghanistan's Herat city

A suicide attack hit the Afghan city of Herat Monday, an official said.

The blast occurred in a locality near Herat airport when a suicide bomber detonated his explosives-laden jacket next to an army vehicle, the official told Xinhua.

"Several gunshots followed the blast. It is said that two other suicide bombers fled the scene," a witness said.

The blast injured three army personnel.
