Defending champions Sweden claimed a berth in the final of the 2014 World men's curling championship after beating Canada Saturday and will face Norway on Sunday.

In the morning session, Norway defeated Sochi Olympic gold medallist Canada 3-2 and cruised into the final with a 12-1 win-loss record. But Canada still had a chance to go further, under the page system, they would clash against Sweden in another play-off with the winner reaching the final, reports Xinhua.

But the Canadians could not impose their play against Sweden in the evening session. Sweden found their rhythm soon after trailing 0-2 after the first end and did a brilliant job in the second to make it 4-2.

The Swedes carried the momentum forward taking a 10-7 lead and held on to win 10-8 in the end.

"This was a really hard game but we finally made it. We have won six matches in a row, and one more win will give us the championship," said Sweden's skipper Oska Eriksson.
