Taxi driver arrested for rape

A taxi driver was arrested on Wednesday on charge of raping a young woman here, police said.

The woman, in her mid-twenties, had hired Chunnu Kumar's taxi from New Delhi railway station in north Delhi on Tuesday night. He raped her after reaching a desolate area near the Geeta Colony Flyover in north-east Delhi, police said.

The woman said he had threatened her not to disclose the crime to anyone. She has since identified the accused after his arrest.
