Tottenham Hotspur's Brazilian winger Lucas Moura was on Friday named English Premier League (EPL) footballer of the month for August.
The 26-year-old Moura scored three goals to help the Spurs defeat Manchester United, Fulham and Newcastle United, reports Efe.
"It is difficult to explain what I am feeling. I am so happy because I know it is not easy to win this trophy. I waited a lot for this moment and I need to enjoy and to keep working because I believe I have much more that will come," the Brazilian player told the EPL website.
Moura won the prize prevailing over Chelsea's Marcos Alonso of Spain, Cardiff City's Neil Etheridge of the United Kingdom, Liverpool's Sadio Mane of Senegal and Virgil van Dijk of the Netherlands, Manchester City's Benjamin Mendy of France and Watford's Roberto Pereyra of Argentina.
Fulham's Jean Michel Seri, meanwhile, won the goal of the month award for the tally he scored on a long-range shot in his team's 4-2 win over Burnley on August 26.
