Upset over man's affair with sister, teenager shoots him dead

Upset with a young man for having an affair with his sister, a teenaged boy on Friday shot dead the 23-year-old man in this Punjab industrial city, police said.

The assailant, aged 16, was later taken into custody by police. The murder weapon, a home-made pistol was also recovered.

The victim, according to the police, was a vegetable vendor and had an affair with the accused's sister.

The incident took place when the accused and the victim met at the house of a common friend in Vijay Nagar area on Friday to sort out the matter. However, the accused fired at the victim and fled from the spot.
