US, Brazil sign space technology safeguard agreement

The US has signed an agreement with to protect its technology associated with US participation in space launches in the South American country.

According to a statement issued on Tuesday by the State Department, US and Nonproliferation and Brazilian on Monday signed the Agreement between the two governments, reported.

The agreement is about "associated with US participation in space launches from Brazil," the statement read.

It added that "upon entry into force, the Agreement will establish the technical safeguards to support US space launches from while ensuring the proper handling of sensitive consistent with US nonproliferation policy, the Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR), and US export control laws and regulations."
