Pakistan's Airport Security Force (ASF) arrested a US embassy official at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport in Islamabad after recovering loaded 9 mm pistols from him, media reported Friday.
According to airport officials, William John was travelling from Islamabad to the US via Abu Dhabi, Dawn online reported.
He was detained Thursday night after ASF personnel recovered 9 mm pistols with magazines and 15 bullets during baggage checks.
Later, ASF personnel handed the US embassy staffer over to police for investigation.
According to sources, John was serving as a trainee in the US embassy.
