West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee on Thursday said she would be happy if BJP's veteran leader and Lok Sabha member L.K. Advani is elected as President of India.

She, however, declined to make comment whether her party will support Advani, if he contests the presidential election at all.

"I respect Advaniji. I respect him as a senior politician. I will be happy if he becomes the President of India.

"I will also be happy if Sushma Swaraj becomes the President or Pranab Mukherjee is re-elected," she said.

"It depends on the political scenario. We have to see who will be the best for the country," she said when asked about whether her party would support Advani.

Banerjee, however, said it was too early to comment on who would become the India's next President.

Presidential election is due in July.
