Chief Economic Advisor Kaushik Basu and Prime Minister’s Economic Advisory Council Chairman C Rangarajan have more than one thing in common. At a recent event, Basu said both he and Rangarajan started their careers as lawyers and later became economists. Basu added Rangarajan was also a researcher and then, like him, started teaching. “But the analogy ends when one talks about his achievements,” Basu said about the former Reserve Bank of India Governor.
