Bharatiya Janata Party leader Varun Gandhi reached out to a television journalist who was at the receiving end of singer Abhijeet's unwanted social media attention.
"Irrespective of political ideology, one needs to be mindful of a woman's dignity. This sort of crass bullying is shameful," Gandhi tweeted tagging the journalist.
While the journalist thanked him for being a decent human being, Twitter went berserk with sarcastic users warning Gandhi of repercussions. "Now bhakts will start abusing @varungandhi80," said one warning him of imminent social media trolling by sympathisers of his own party.
