Letters: The great Indian dynasty

Apropos Devangshu Datta's column "The axioms of dynastic democracy" (Viewpoint, June 15), the author argues that dynastic rule with regular reviews is more likely to deliver good governance than non-dynastic rule. In India, we seem to be currently having the worst of both the worlds, as it were. We have a dynasty member (or is it two of them?) ruling the country; but instead of being subjected to reviews, others are put up as human shields to answer questions.
