Journalists chase politicians for news and interviews as a mater of routine, but in the upcoming Punjab assembly elections, the three major political opponents — the Shiromani Akali Dal, Congress and Aam Aadmi Party — are following journalists around. All three have roped in former journalists as their media advisors and campaign managers. The other common factor is that all the former journalists have once worked with Punjab’s leading newspaper.
