Debt-ridden pharma major Wockhardt’s latest annual report was titled the Joy of Performing, celebrating the company’s successful turnaround. As the name suggests, the publication was filled with photographs of smiling faces — of promoter Habil Khorakiwala and his sons and daughter. Even the back cover had a picture of Khorakiwala and his wife, both beaming. Those smiles, however, were not reflected in the faces of Wockhardt’s shareholders.
