The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) concluded its national executive meeting on Monday. Ever since, party leaders have been wary of giving sound bytes to the electronic media.

In his speech at the national executive, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had ridiculed party leaders who start salivating the moment they see a television camera and microphone. He advised party leaders not to speak out of turn. This, however, isn’t the first time the PM has given such an advice. He had said something similar at the BJP’s national executive in Bhubaneswar earlier this year. The effect of that advice didn’t last long.
