Kicking off the campaign for Assembly elections, the BJP’s man of the moment, Narendra Modi, slammed the Congress-led UPA for a series of alleged scams.
Addressing a mammoth gathering at Amroodon-ka-bagh in Jaipur, the Gujarat CM on Tuesday said the Congress party has invented a new way to recite alphabets with each letter standing for something different.
"A for Adarsh Ghotala, B for Bofors Ghotala, C for Coal ghotala, D for Damad ka ghotala (corruption)..This is the new ABCD..Which the Congress adopted to introduce a new book of alphabets for children," he said.
He went on to add that the Congress leadership lacks the ability to lead and take important decisions and has no accountability.
“If we want to rid ourselves of a corrupt country, the remedy is getting rid of the Congress,” the BJP poll panel chief said.
“We made a mistake five years ago, we will correct that mistake of the last election," Modi said today. In 2009, the BJP lost both the Assembly elections in Rajsathan and the general elections to the Congress.
Attacking the Congress, he said that the there is a big difference between the Congress of pre-1947 and post-Independence. After 1947 it is immersed in ‘bhakti’ of one family.
Modi also hit out at Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for saying that he will be happy to work under Rahul Gandhi. "The nation had no idea what India's stand at the G-20 Summit was. The PM returned to announce who his new boss would be," the CM added.
The BJP's star campaigner praised the previous National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government led by Atal Bihari Vajpayee and said that people still remember its good governance.

Earlier, Modi’ s rally got mired in controversy as the BJP's minority cell allegedly issued a diktat asking Muslims to follow a particular dress code for the rally.
According to media reports, men were asked to wear sherwanis and skull caps and females had been asked to wear burqas.
Sources said the dress code idea was put forward to 'polish' the BJP's pro-Muslim image in the state.
The rally coincided with the concluding day of state BJP president Vasundhara Raje's Suraj Sankalp Yatra, which she undertook across Rajasthan since April.
Raje's sankalp yatra has travelled about 14,500 km, covering 181 out of 200 Assembly constituencies, party sources said.
