The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday protested against the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA)’s decision to enact an ordinance scuttling the Supreme Court order barring convicted legislators from continuing in office.
AAP’s statements follow Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s Sushma Swaraj’s tweet on Tuesday night that the party was also opposed to the ordinance. BJP general secretary Rajiv Pratap Rudy said, “The BJP is shocked at this ordinance.”
